Lowest CRS scores observes in the recent Alberta draw
Over 1,659 Express Entry candidates were invited by Alberta to apply onto for 2021 provincial nomination.
On May 5, Alberta sent invitations to about 300 Express Entry candidates for the provincial nomination application.
Out of the record of 300, about 250 candidates were invited this year, thereby it wasn’t the biggest draw in 2021, however, the CRS scores considered were certainly the lowest ever since May 2020.
The eligible candidates of the Alberta Express Entry stream that were invited received the CRS scores of additional 600 points to their overall score points. The candidates are then qualified to apply in for the permanent residence.

The candidates are allotted scores based on age, education skills, lingual fluency, work experiences accordingly. Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) which is the Canadian immigration department holds Express Entry draws based on inviting the highest scoring candidates.
Candidates are eligible to immigrate to Canada without provincial nomination, but if the CRS scores are low then the candidates usually opt for the PNP provincial nomination, which thereby provides additional 600 points to their overall score points.
Alberta alloted additional 900 points to the lowest CRS scoring candidates that counted on for the eligibility in a subsequent Express Entry draw.
Alberta Express Entry Stream
Candidates with firm ties with Alberta goes alongside the Alberta Express Entry stream. To improve the economic and the diversification priorities, the Federal Government expressed it’s support.
Alberta had been prioritizing the existent working and residing candidates amidst the pandemic era. The AINP provides list of Occupations that aren’t eligible for the stream. Candidates require to have work experiences in an eligible occupation to qualify.
