95 in Tech Pilot draw to be invited by B. C, Expected to extend Entrepreneur Immigration Pilot

Around 2,535 immigration candidates were invited by B. C for the application of a provincial nomination, in 2020. 

Under the Express Entry BC and Skills Immigration categories, Tech Pilot draw was conducted through  British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP), Candidates such as the Skilled Worker

and International Graduate were being invited with the minimum score of 80. In-demand IT workers and international students have paved a fast-track way through The BC PNP Tech Pilot with conditions of Immigration streams.

What is the Tech Pilot?

Immigrants with proficient tech skills are provided with immigration pathways by the  BC PNP Tech Pilot  for the permanent residence. 

The Tech Pilot’s 29 eligible occupations are availed for 12 months where the provincial immigration streams and valid job offers were bring provided. 

 Considering the Tech Pilot job, it has to offer a job with atleast 120 days and of an year minimum unlike the other PNPs provided by the B.C. The offer validity requires to contain full-time and from existing employer in the province. These Tech Pilot jobs are allotted to those high picked the top-scoring candidates who also have all the eligibility factors fulfilled. 

With 30 days, the candidates must try to submit their provincial nomination, it takes around 2-3 months to get these tech skilled jobs to processed. 

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) under the Provincial Nominee Class send over invitations to approve the provincial nomination confirmation once processed. 

B. C pilot PNP application forum

Immigration candidates require to create an online portal the Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) provided by their province since it is not considered a separate stream or category of the BC PNP. 

Candidates with proficient skills that contribute to the province for its economic growth are considered the utmost priority by the SIRS. 

Evaluation of the applicants is taken in consideration and based on the scores the invitations are being issued alongside with these basic requirements, those are a well equipped B.C job offer, education and years of work experience. 

In May 2017, the pilot project was launched and ever since, the only con to exist was access to talent. But it facilitated other sectors providing the access to the tech skilled workers availing easy and fast access to the in demand immigration BC PNP. The recent extension was availed recently until June 2021. 

What is the Entrepreneur Immigration – Regional Pilot? 

In early 2019, the Entrepreneurs immigration – regional Pilot was launched. Regional communities with less of 75,000 people were welcomed to approve Entrepreneur Immigration to open their own business, this was made possible by the pilot. The communities are made to sustain over 30 kilometers located farther from the  75,000 people that were to be enrolled in the pilot.

An exploratory visit to the community by the interested Entrepreneurs must be visited in order to fulfill their wish to establish their business, therefore they require to obtain a community referral before registering to the pilot. 

 A temporary work permit is granted over to the successful candidates, after which their permanent residence application is issued forward by the province based on their business performance criteria fulfilment. 

The government believes that the extension will turn beneficiary to the Canadian communities regaining their economic growth and help them recover the post pandemic crisis. More expected Entrepreneurs to apply once the travel restrictions are uplifted, says the province.
